• Great book for getting in shape and building a better body. As a competitor I was able to transform from 210+ lbs with 24% body fat to 11% body fat and 197 lbs. Clothing no longer fit and my personal attitude towards myself changed back to my younger years. Pictures of me look as if I was turning 40 and now others comment that I am around 30. Great book if you are a stick to it person and can set goals for yourself. Recommended purchase.

• Quick easy reading for ideas and suggestions on how to reward people for doing a great job. Nelson polled the "business" community to find low cost methods to give reward and praise. Case studies included and the chapters make it easy to navigate to the subject matter of interest.

• Clean Cars and a cleaner environment are further away than one might imagine. Motavalli take the reader on a road trip from the 1800 all the way to the year 2050 explaining the history of the automobile and its future in fuel cell technology, hybrids, hydrogen and gasoline. Meant as book to explain the transformation of the industry, the book also opens the readers eyes to the impact of the combustion engine. Sorry to say there is not much on the horizon that is breakthrough technology for the auto. Except for a few little pockets of ideas we will have 4 wheels for some time to come.

• Excellent book on the theoretical underpinnings of innovation and its management. The author creates an understanding of innovation based on industries, cycles of product and service development and product types. A great compliment to the Innovators Dilemma. If your interested in New Product Development this is a great educator.
• The fact that disruptive technologies continually entering the market have always been a problem for mainstream firms. The issues are how to them recognize and increase the probability of winning in these environments. Christensen defines quite easily the issues facing leadership in the pursuit of creation and defense of this dilemma. Great book to extend ones knowledge of innovation.
• Wow, almost everything one needs to know to formulate, generate and produce new products. Wheelwright and Clark in this 350 page book not only start the process of creating ideas but follow it through to ideas such as prototyping, mapping and heavyweight teams. If your serious (because the book is long) find out why these two are quoted all over the place. (Bobrow, Christensen and others all use their concepts)
• Everyone knows that products are the life blood of and organization and no one knows it better than Robert Cooper. A must read for anyone serious about controlling the process and the results. Pre-development, discovery, collaboration, you name it, it's covered. Nothing less than 5 stars.
• Edwin has been writing books, consulting and building business for more years than most of have been in business. A fantastic friend and the person that introduced me to the theories and practical nature behind NPD. The book is easy to read, full of information and extremely valuable. This is that same book used at NYU to teach the course in the Marketing department. |

• In the style of The One Minute Manager a quick 180 pages. Again through the eyes of hopefully oneself the reader is taken through several lessons on how to develop wealth. The lessons are valuable in the search for personal and business success by placing the emphasis on the individual to succeed in the corporation and in their personal lives. |

• This book can be found in the night stand in almost any Marriott Hotel around the world, and it was free when I asked the front desk. Definitely worth the time to read. The authors not only take you thorough the building of the Marriott, but more importantly, the book outlines much of what JW Marriott Jr. was thinking in the process. If you wish a book that not only tells a story or teaches a lesson, this does them all. Emphasis is on creating predictable reliable results in the world wide firm through systems. My kind of book!!! Pick it up at your nearest Marriott, it's worth selecting the hotel chain just to get it.
• A recommended book to read. Wess originally tried to get the book published and no publisher was interested. Eventually Warner Books picked up the book and has sold over 1/2 million copies. Easy to understand language takes you through the journey of Attila the Hun and how his leadership brought together hundreds of thousands of people. The author takes a neat twist and creates the lessons from the mouth of Attila. |
